For the first time since 1978, Hannukah (Dec. 24) commenced on the same day as Christmas Eve.
To mark the occasion, Dillon Francis decided to treat Jewish dance fans to a wild rework of Israeli folk song and Bar Mitzvah mainstay “Hava Nagila.”
“So yesterday before the Dillstradamus show I was thinking to myself there are way too many Christmas remixes so I decided to make this Hanukkah flip to play at the show and for the first night of Hanukkah of course!” Francis writes on Soundcloud. “The menorah is about to be fucking lit.”
Sporting a festival-ready lead line and a searing oscillated synth drop, Francis’ free download is certainly doing its part to support the annual Festival of Lights. As one fan comments, “That drop made me Jewish.”
