Sunburn Festival just can’t catch a break; after receiving reports of the festival selling liquor and water bottles higher than MSRP, Pune’s legal metrology department has taken action.
In response to these reports, members of the metrology department attended Sunburn for the festival’s last two days to find water bottles marked up two-and-a-half times the MSRP, and liquor being sold in non-standard units. Both of these are illegal practices, and Sunburn will be charged a fine between 1000 to 15,000 rupees, resulting in a case filing if they refuse to pay.
Sunburn took place from December 28th to the 31st, and the CEO of Percept, Sunburn’s organizer, claims he hadn’t received any notice or complaints regarding the allegations.
